On the afternoon of 17 November, 2022, Yang Libing, Deputy Director of Applied Law Department of Hainan Vocational College of Political Science and Law(“HVCPL”), Zhu Yong, Director of Legal Affairs (Commercial Arbitration and People's Mediation), Meng Ruisi, Director of Legal Affairs, Li Wenchao, Director of Criminal Law Teaching and Research Department, Lecturer Wang Qiangqiang and his delegation visited China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Hainan Arbitration Center ("CIETAC Hainan Center"). Wang Yitan and Zhang Zhenyao from Hainan Center received the delegation and both sides had a discussion.

Wang Yitan welcomed Director Yang Libing and his delegation. He introduced the development of CIETAC and CIETAC Hainan Center, and specifically shared the efforts of CIETAC Hainan Center in supporting People’s Government of Hainan Province in launching the plan of "Building Hainan Free Trade Port into an International Arbitration Highland", the recruitment of arbitrators in Hainan, and the cultivation and management of arbitration talents. Wang Yitan said that CIETAC Hainan Center will be a good link between CIETAC and Hainan Free Trade Port, and bring high-quality and professional dispute resolution services to Hainan. In the future, CIETAC Hainan Center hopes to maintain contact and strengthen cooperation with HVCPL, and jointly support Hainan Free Trade Port in building an internationally leading diversified dispute resolution mechanism, so as to provide better arbitration services for parties at home and abroad.

Director Yang Libing expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the achievements of CIETAC and CIETAC Hainan Center. He also briefed on the development of HVCPL and the preparation of the establishment of Hainan Police College. He mentioned that CIETAC is the oldest and most experienced arbitration institution in China and has owned  high reputation at home and abroad. HVCPL will strengthen cooperation with CIETAC Hainan Center in the cultivation of legal talents and theoretical research in the rule of law, and jointly contribute to  commercial dispute resolution in Hainan Free Trade Port.

The two sides made in-depth discussions and exchanges on the cultivation and development direction of legal talents, current situation, development potential of legal service market, and the opportunities and challenges of arbitration in Hainan.

Before discussion, the delegates visited the work site of CIETAC Hainan Center accompanied by CIETAC Hainan Center staff.
