On the afternoon of December 18, 2023, Lv Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) Xiong’ an Sub-Commission, and her delegation visited the affiliated companies of China Communications Construction Company Limited ("CCCC") in Xiong'an. Cao Hongcheng, the Assistant to the General Manager of the Legal Department  of CCCC  and an arbitrator of CIETAC, with the leaders of the legal compliance departments from CCCC Xiongan Investment Co., Ltd. , CCCC Construction Group Co., Ltd.  and other CCCC’s affiliated companies in Xiong’ an, received Lv Yan and her delegation, and had a discussion together.

Deputy Secretary-General Lv Yan highlighted the history and development of CIETAC and its Xiong’ an Sub-Commission. Starting from the advantages of arbitration, and taking into account the current national strategic layout and the overall situation of optimizing the functions of the local government, she introduced the characteristics and advantages of CIETAC and its Xiong’ an Sub-Commission in a comprehensive manner by analyzing the development of domestic and foreign arbitration institutions. Also, Deputy Secretary-General Lv Yan said in the discussion that as the only arbitration institution in Xiong'an, CIETAC Xiong’ an Sub-Commission should give full play to its professional ability in diversified commercial dispute resolution, understand the actual development and demands of enterprises, and actively provide convenient, efficient and internationalized arbitration services for local commercial subjects.

Arbitrator Cao Hongcheng welcomed the visit of Deputy Secretary-General Lv Yan and her delegation. He expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by CIETAC in building a high-quality communication and promotion platform, enhancing enterprises’ awareness of risk prevention, effectively safeguarding their legal rights and interests, and providing a fair and just business environment under the rule of law, etc. Combined with his years of experience as an arbitrator of CIEATC, he elaborated in detail on CCCC's needs and expectations for confidentiality, impartiality and predictability in choosing commercial dispute resolution method.

During the discussion, representatives from CCCC Xiong’an Investment Co., Ltd.and CCCC Construction Group Co., Ltd. , CCCC Xiong’an Construction Co., Ltd. CCCC Xiong’an Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. , China First Highway Engineering Xiong’an Construction Development Co., Ltd., CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co. , Ltd, etc. expressed their views combining with the characteristics of their repective enterprises. They introduced the main business situation and the types of commercial disputes that the enterprises were involved in or concerned about. They also analyzed the obstacles and needs that existed in the practice of the enterprises in the prevention of legal risks, and put forward a higher expectation on the diversified commercial dispute resolution service of CIETAC.

This visit not only deepened the enterprises’ understanding of CIETAC’s professional arbitration service capability, but also provided a valuable opportunity for CIETAC to fully understand the enterprises’ needs, and injected impetus for CIETAC Xiong’an Sub-Commission to provide high-quality and efficient dispute resolution services in the future.
