On the morning of January 21st, 2025, the Joint Meeting of Secretary-General of the Sub-Commissions of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (hereinafter referred to as "CIETAC") was held in Beijing. Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CIETAC, Xu Yanbo, Party Secretary of CIETAC, Xie Changqing, Vice President of the Arbitration Court, Gu Yan, Vice President of the Arbitration Court, and cadres at the middle level and above of CIETAC and its sub-commissions attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Secretary-General of each sub-commission introduced the work of case management, institution construction, team building and business development in 2024 of sub-commissions, and made key exchanges on their characteristic experience and innovative measures in prioritizing satisfying the parties’ needs for diversified, regionalized and convenient services. Each sub-commission has planned and sorted out the work layout and key points in 2025 in combination with the unique situation faced by the region, contributing wisdom to better promote the integrated development of CIETAC and its sub-commissions and jointly foster the high-quality and international development of CIETAC.

Secretary-General Wang Chengjie concluded that the construction of sub-commissions is an important work of CIETAC and functions a crucial lever for the long-term development of CIETAC. In recent years, CIETAC has insisted on the "one chessboard" development pattern, providing full support and strong back-up for the development of its sub-commissions. Each sub-commission strictly implements the deployment of the headquarter, adapts to local conditions, cooperates in unity, and shows their respective strengths. All the work has been carried out vividly, resulting in impressive achievements, which reflects the cohesion and centripetal force of the integrated development of CIETAC and its sub-commissions.

In the next step, CIETAC and its sub-commissions will continue to serve the major deployments of the country, with the sense of mission and responsibility to engage in pioneering work and advance with determination. Through “collaboration and coordination between the headquarter and sub-commissions” and gathering strong synergy, CIETAC will continuously provide higher quality and more effective dispute resolution services to the parties, and boost its cause and China’s arbitration to a new level.
