On February 25, Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), led a delegation to visit the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Cameroon. Wang Yingwu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the embassy, received the CIETAC delegation and held a discussion.

Secretary-General Wang Chengjie briefly introduced the basic situation of CIETAC and the important role of arbitration in resolving economic and trade disputes and promoting economic and trade cooperation. He said that with the economic and trade relations developing between China and Africa, disputes between Chinese and Cameroonian enterprises are inevitable, and the understanding of arbitration as a means of dispute resolution among enterprises in Cameroon needs to be enhanced urgently. During this CIETAC's trip to Africa, extensive communication is initiated with arbitration institutions, law firms, and Chinese and African enterprises in the Africa. The purpose is to enhance mutual trust and cooperation between the arbitration and legal communities of China and Africa, make full use of the advantages of arbitration and CIETAC, serve enterprises, safeguard economic and trade activities, and contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Ambassador Wang Yingwu welcomed the visit of Secretary-General Wang Chengjie and his delegation and highly recognized the achievements of CIETAC. He introduced the basic economic situation of Cameroon and the business opportunities and problems faced by Chinese enterprises in Cameroon. Ambassador Wang Yingwu said that CIETAC's extensive communication with relevant business entities in Africa, including Cameroon, in-depth understanding of local legal service situations and the actual needs of enterprises, and the creation of a good international legal cooperation platform will help promote the healthy development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Cameroon.
The two sides conducted extensive exchanges on how to help enterprises make good use of the arbitration mechanism to prevent legal risks and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and promote economic and trade exchanges between China and Cameroon.
