During the meeting, Secretary-General Wang Chengjie highlighted that in recent years, economic and trade exchanges between China and Belt-and-Road countries, including Turkey, have become increasingly close, leading to a corresponding rise in cross-border commercial disputes. As an internationally recognized method of dispute resolution, arbitration plays a crucial role in safeguarding international economic and trade cooperation. In this context, CIETAC attaches great emphasis on enhancing communication and cooperation among arbitration institutions, striving to build a regional international arbitration cooperation ecosystem and foster regular dialogue and coordinated development within the international arbitration legal community. ISTAC President Ziya Akıncı appreciated CIETAC’s achievements over the years. He noted that Turkey, as the bridge connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa, plays a unique role in economic cooperation due to its strategic geographical location. As China-Turkey economic and trade relations continue to deepen, he expressed ISTAC’s hope to engage in multi-facted and in-depth cooperation with CIETAC, including recommending arbitrators and co-hosting events, to jointly promote the development of international arbitration.
